Oki, Hello, Altadore Families,

As we started off the New Year, we were honored to have a visit from Elder Saa’kokoto, who shared his incredible knowledge about the Winter Solstice and how the sky and nature guide us through the seasons. He explained how, many years ago, people didn’t rely on calendars but instead observed the natural world to understand the time of year. He taught us how the position of the sun and moon, the tilt of the Big Dipper, and the changes animals go through can all provide valuable clues about the seasons. His teachings reminded us of the deep connection between nature and our lives. We are so grateful for this opportunity to learn from Elder Saa’kokoto and look forward to applying his teachings in our learning. Below, you’ll find details about Kindergarten registration, Grade 7 open houses for our current Grade 6 students, and the Intensive French option available for our current Grade 5 students next year. We would like our students and parents to know that Rolf Haensel will be able to stay as Acting Principal for the foreseeable future. If you have any questions or need further information, please don’t hesitate to reach out to either of us. Thank you for your continued support, and here’s to a wonderful start to the year!

Warm Regards,

Rolf Haensel - Acting Principal

Karlee Zelmer - Assistant Principal
