Oki Hello Altadore Families
We are now just two weeks away from the end of the school year! This week, the Provincial Achievement Tests (PAT) will continue, and we appreciate everyone's support in helping our students do their best.
As we move forward into the final stretch of the school year, we have a variety of fun activities planned for our students. We encourage you to read through the details below and join us in making these events a success. Volunteers are always welcome and needed to help bring these activities to life!
Additionally, we want to remind everyone that we will continue to monitor the Calgary Air Quality Health Index. You can find regular updates on the Altadore School website and here.
Thank you for your continued support as we wrap up another successful school year!
Take care,

Thank you for your continued support. We’re looking forward to ending the year on a high note with our amazing school community!
Garden Committee - Call for Items
The garden committee is seeking items to enhance the learning experience for children during their lessons. We are in need of gently used yoga mats, microscopes, and watering cans (ideally of decent quality and made from materials like silicone or metal). They can be dropped off on the garden table, or reach out to Katie Dodd - 587-225-2235 to coordinate other arrangements. Thank you in advance!!
Owls Nest Garden Update
This week we learned about plant life cycles, and working on identifying plants and keeping our soil moist and healthy.
Because of the smoke some classes were moved inside, but we still learned lots about the plants in our garden.

Bell Time Change (2025-26 School Year)
In response to Alberta Education’s School Transportation Amendment Regulation, CBE is expanding yellow school bus service and adjusting walk zones starting on September 1, 2025. As bell times are closely linked to transportation schedules, these changes will affect many schools, including Altadore School. The new bell times for next year will be 8:42 AM to 3:15 PM, with early dismissal on Fridays ending at 12:45 PM.
Aligning bell times across schools improves transportation efficiency, allowing each bus to run multiple routes. This helps create a reliable system, ensuring students arrive at school safely, on time, and ready to learn. For more information: Transportation Service and Bell Time Changes for the 2025-26 School Year
Altadore Gear
Altadore School collaborates with Summarized Design to offer Altadore Gear in various sizes for purchase throughout the year. This is a fun initiative that many of our families enjoy. Please note that this is not a fundraiser, and Altadore School does not benefit financially from the purchase of Altadore gear. You can order online here, and your purchase will arrive at the school in approximately one week.
