Oki, Hello, Altadore Families, Shanah Tovah, or Happy New Year, to our Jewish families celebrating Rosh Ha Shana this week and those preparing for Yom Kipper next weekend.
Students and staff had a wonderful weekend honoring Terry Fox with our annual run on Wednesday. Our second assembly acknowledged Truth and Reconciliation Day, during which our students sang our school song, Kitssikakomim – I Love You. The students sang a beautiful rendition, recognizing their love for Altadore School, learning, and students.
The grade one to three teachers and students have completed the New Alberta Education Learning assessments. The sage, sweet grass, and community garden harvest are complete as well; we hope you enjoyed the Garden Harvest Festival. The grade six classes are excitedly preparing for Outdoor School, a gentle reminder to parents to return forms and attend to the fee for this beautiful annual activity. Sincerely,
Iikiinayookaa Yellow Horn Karlee Zelmer

Scooters
Please remind your child to bring a lock and secure their scooter at the scooter racks. Scooters are not allowed inside the school for safety reasons
Volunteer Security Clearance
All volunteers need a CBE police security clearance (sports/work clearances don’t apply). Although there is an online process to do this yourself, Ms. Tori kindly requests you come and see her in the office to get this done as she can expedite the process and make sure no errors are made.
Altadore Casino Fundraiser (Nov 4 & 5)
The Altadore School Casino Fundraiser is happening on November 4 and 5, and we are looking for a bunch of volunteers. This event brings in about one third of our total budget for the year, so it’s an important one! Absolutely no experience necessary, the staff on site will train you and help out through the shift! Come meet some other Altadore parents during your shift and sign up!
Direct Donation Campaign
We’ve eliminated all of the small, time consuming fundraisers for one simple campaign to give parents back their time, and ensure all the money and effort goes straight into enriching the programs, supplies, and events that your children will be engaging in this 2024-25 school year! Check out more about the campaign at the very very end of this newsletter!
Any contribution makes an impact, please consider donating!
