Dear Altadore Families,

Thank you so much to everyone who came to our Sharing Night this week! It is truly wonderful to see how excited the students are to show off their learning and explain what they do at school. It is an extra special time, especially for those families with children who respond to questions about their days at school with “I don’t know” or “Nothing.” A huge thank you to the teachers who prepared their students to share and for organizing the evening.

We have another big week coming up with Conferences on Thursday night and Friday. More information is below, but we want to highlight some changes for Conference bookings. We had said booking would begin on Sunday at noon. Since then we have been informed that all CBE systems including MyCBE, Powerschool, and SchoolMessenger will be down for maintenance from Saturday at 10:30PM to Sunday at 10:30PM. As a result, our bookings will open once these systems come back on line. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

2023-24 Direct Donation Campaign                                                                       

Altadore School's Direct Donation Campaign is waiting for your generosity HERE! With your help, Altadore students will get to explore and learn far beyond what standard CBE funding has to offer, such as…

Our goal for this campaign is participation. We hope that each family can contribute in whatever capacity they are able, with a hope of $200 per student for those who can. We are currently at 40% of our goal! Any contribution at all makes an impact in the enrichment of our students!

Conferences

Conferences are this Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24.

Based on feedback from parents last year, we will have in-person conferences on Thursday from 4:00pm to 8:00 pm, and online from 8:00am to noon on Friday. Ms Wrightson will be having extra in person conferences on Thursday morning. It is up to each family to decide whether or not to have their child attend. There is no school for students on Friday. Bookings can be made through your MyCBE account.

There is a new version of the software used to sign up for conferences this year.

If there are any glitches (the link isn’t working now, there is a maintenance outage, and there is new software - so it is not beyond the realm of possibility…) we will inform you of next steps as soon as we have them.

Please ensure you have selected the correct teacher for your child! Set up your orders through the Healthy Hunger website HERE. You will have to create a profile and select their teacher by selecting Altadore School. Please note that there are two accounts for Fun lunch for Altadore School. AltadoreLunch1 is grades 1-3 (and Seeds of Spice K students) and AltadoreLunch2 is grades 4-6. You can email altadorefunlunch@gmail.com with any questions or concerns!

School Council Meeting

Altadore Gear - All Year Long

Altadore school works with Summarized Design to provide Altadore Gear for purchase in all sizes all year long. This is a fun initiative that many of our families enjoy. Please note that this is not a fundraiser, and Altadore School does not benefit financially from the purchase of Altadore gear.

T-Shirt and hoodie colours are changed periodically, and right now there are several different versions of multicoloured logos! You can order online HERE and your purchase will come to the school in about a week. If you would like to see the different colour options or to have your child try on t-shirts to check for size, there are samples at the school office.
