Dear Altadore Families,

Conferences Thank you to all the families who attended Conferences on Thursday and Friday. We really enjoy being able to spend some one-on-one time talking about your children, their learning at school, and to be able to hear your insights and perspectives. Parents, students and teachers working together helps our students learn and love coming to school.

Outdoor School Our Grade 6 students had a wonderful week at Outdoor School which was at Kamp Kiwanis in Kananaskis just past Bragg Creek. The weather was wonderful which meant they truly spent most of their time outside. They had a blast and learned a lot. There was learning in different curricular areas and in how to navigate the world a little more independently. This was the first time most of them had been away from their family for so long.

We each spent two days with them and were amazed with how much they matured both as individuals and a group over the course of a week. The feedback we got was that our Altadore students were the most caring group they have ever had and the staff were super impressed about how our children took such good care of each other.

A huge thanks to Ms Hutton and Mr. Fraser who spent a great deal of time and effort to make sure things went off without a hitch and to the School Council who subsidized the cost of the trip by $40 for each student.

School Council Meeting

Join us on November 29 at 6:30pm at the school for our School Council Meeting! All parents and guardians are welcome and encouraged to join, and there will be babysitting provided in a nearby classroom to help make sure we get as many people as possible to the meeting! The school will be sharing a bit about Provincial Achievement Results from last June.

Altadore Gear - All Year Long

Altadore school works with Summarized Design to provide Altadore Gear for purchase in all sizes all year long. This is a fun initiative that many of our families enjoy. Please note that this is not a fundraiser, and Altadore School does not benefit financially from the purchase of Altadore gear.

T-Shirt and hoodie colours are changed periodically, and right now there are several different versions of multicoloured logos! You can order online HERE and your purchase will come to the school in about a week. If you would like to see the different colour options or to have your child try on t-shirts to check for size, there are samples at the school office.

Notes of Thanks

Thank you to the following individuals for their recent contributions to our school…

• Everyone who attended conferences this past Thursday and Friday.
• All of the teachers and staff for their efforts and long days in making sure they are available to meet and connect with families at conferences!
• The parent council for providing teachers with dinner on Thursday evening during the conferences.
• Ms Hutton, Mr. Fraser, Ms Christopher, Mrs. Zelmer, Mr. Johnson, Ms. Natalie, and Ms. Edison who came out to spend time with our students at Outdoor School. They created a great learning experience for our Grade 6 students and did a great job of supporting students who had a tough time being away from their families for such a long time.
