Wow! That was a week! Our students and staff did a great job of keeping their focus on learning while it was so hot in the school. We appreciate you sending your children to school with hats, water bottles, sunscreen and lightweight clothing. Teachers worked hard to ensure activity levels were appropriate for the temperature, and that their classes moved in and out of the school to take advantage of any breeze and shade that was available. Our lunch staff helped keep things cool for our students by moving lunch outside to the Owl’s Nest.

Luckily, it looks like the weather will be cooler this week, so we shouldn’t have to make as many adjustments for the weather.

On Wednesday, the bike racks were full! Students were so excited to show off their wheels. They did a wonderful job of managing their locks and observing bike safety.

Students were equally as thrilled to show off their hats for Hats On for Mental Health Day. Several of our teachers forgot their hats but still wanted to recognize the day - they decided to raid our prop closet in the basement before school started. It was hilarious to see the students react to the assortment of leprechaun hats, top hats, sparkly Santa hats, and many, many animal ear headbands. lt was a definite highlight in an awesome week!
