Oki Hello Altadore Families,
I hope this message finds you and your family enjoying the last few days of summer. We are excited to welcome students and families to a new school year at Altadore!
Ms. Zelmer, Ms. Tori, and I have been busy preparing for the arrival of our teachers this week and our students on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
We would like to inform you of an important update: Since our last communication, we have made adjustments to our classroom configurations due to a decline in enrolment. While we had initially planned for multi-age classrooms in Grades 1, 2, 4, and 5, we have now made the decision to move to single-grade classrooms for Kindergarten through Grade 6. This is exciting news for our students, teachers, and families, and we know many of you will be very happy about this change.
As a result of these changes, the creation of class lists will be delayed slightly to allow time for the necessary adjustments. This means that Teachers will send out a welcome email to families on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. (instead of on Thursday morning as originally planned). This email will include details such as:
- Your child’s teacher and classroom assignment
- Which doors your child will use to enter and exit the building on the first day and for the remainder of the year
A quick reminder about our updated bell times:
Monday – Thursday: 8:42 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
Friday: 8:42 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
What your child should bring on the first day:
- A backpack
- A snack and lunch
- A water bottle
Please do not bring indoor shoes yet. These are not needed until the weather begins to change in the fall.
