Oki, Hello, Altadore Families,
We know we make better decisions to support student learning when we build understanding and work together. At our last parent council meeting we shared some information about our school planning which includes our school development plan, school budget and fees. We wanted to make sure everyone has access to this information about school planning and ask you to share your perspectives.

CUPE Strike Labour Action
We are sure that you have heard about the labour action that will start on Monday from the emails sent by the CBE. During strike action, CBE is prioritizing in-person learning and is committed to supporting student learning and well-being while maintaining safe and welcoming school environments for students, staff and families. All CBE schools and buildings will remain open and classes will continue. However, a strike will have an impact on schools on operations. More information can be found on the CBE labour action website.
Pink Shirt Day
Wednesday Pink Shirt day was started in response to a new Grade 9 student being bullied for wearing a pink shirt, two Nova Scotia high school students took a stand against bullying by distributing pink shirts to all the boys in their school to wear. This act of kindness has grown into a symbol against bullying in schools across the globe. On Wednesday, Feb. 26, wear a pink shirt to help spread kindness and a sense of belonging! Promoting inclusion is something that occurs at Altadore schools every day. Check out some of the information and resources about:

Fun Lunch (March 18)
March's Fun Lunch is Subway on March 18. Don't forget to order by March 13 to have your child receive a fun lunch! Volunteers can sign up!

- Thank you for Dana Bane for blowing the snow off the door steps while Mr. Jerry was away last week.
- Thank you to all of you who brought a little love and treats for the teachers on February 14. These were very appreciated.
- Thank you again to all those who volunteered with the Casino fundraiser in November. With your help we were able to raise almost $83,000! These funds will go a long way in supporting the education of our Altadore students.
